Following the launch of the EMENA Sovereign Funds Collaborative Network (EMENA Network) on 24th March 2022 MGI hosted the first Secretariat and Sherpas Council meeting in Malta paving the way for co-operation amongst sovereign funds across the region. The Secretary General of the EMENA Network is Mr Xavier Tessier while the Sherpas Council is chaired by Mr Abdalla ElEbiary.

The foundation is composed of Bpifrance, MGI and The Sovereign Fund of Egypt. COFIDES (Spain) will become full members in the coming future and discussions are being held with a number of sovereign funds in the region. The idea now is for co-investment opportunities to be presented on the table as the network adds value in terms of exchange of best practices and investment dealflows.
